- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is dependent on if the service is related to tax preparation, consultation or outsourced accounting (Bookkeeping, payroll, AR/AP etc). More detailed pricing info can be found on my website.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For Tax Clients: - Initial Inquiry: Assess the client’s specific situation and needs. - Quote and Timeline: Provide a detailed quote and estimated timeline for completion (usually within one week, extending to two weeks during April). - In-Person Appointment: Local clients have the option to schedule an in-person appointment. Depending on the complexity of the return, it may or may not be completed during this meeting. - Agreement: Upon acceptance of the quote and timeline, send the client an Excel intake sheet and direct them to your Tax Dome site for uploading the completed intake sheet and tax documents. - Document Submission: Clients upload the completed Excel sheet and tax documents to your Tax Dome site. For Bookkeeping and Outsourced Accounting Services: - Initial Consultation: Schedule a phone call to discuss the client's needs and challenges. - Access or Documentation: Clients either provide access to their QuickBooks Online account or submit three months of bank statements to facilitate an accurate quote. - Quote Provision: After reviewing the provided materials, deliver a quote for monthly services, which may include: Bookkeeping Accounts Receivable (AR) Billing Income Tax Preparation Sales Tax Tax Planning HR & Payroll - Agreement and Retainer: If the client accepts the quote, collect the first month’s retainer and commence work. - Service Delivery: Provide weekly and monthly services, including: Categorizing transactions Reconciliation Generating financial statements Preparing sales tax returns Managing payroll via Gusto Issuing invoices Paying bills and contractors Reviewing previous tax returns for tax planning opportunities Preparing annual business and personal tax returns Issuing W-9s, W-4s, 1099s, and W-2s to employees and contractors Retainer Structure: Initiate with a low initial fee for a six-month agreement. If the client is satisfied with the services after six months, adjust the retainer to reflect fair compensation.
