FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are $30 for a half hour, and $60 for a full hour. I only teach one-on-one lessons, not group "camp-style" lessons, so you get my complete and undivided attention during your lesson. To give you an idea of drive-time, I'm near 44th St and Indian School in Phoenix.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically start with a short consultation at my home studio to discuss the student's musical interests, their goals, whether they have any musical experience (none required, of course), and to basically get acquainted. I answer any questions they or their parent(s) have. We'll hit the drum pads and usually the drum sets for a few minutes. It's a no-pressure thing. If we're simpatico, we'll create a lesson schedule together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the Grove School of Music in Studio City, CA, where I studied drums and percussion with Peter Donald, David Garibaldi, Luis Conte, Chuck Silverman and other first-call L.A. musicians. I got my start playing percussion in middle school. I continued in high school, playing percussion in concert band and marching band. I was an all-state percussionist, and played the drum set in jazz band as well. I also performed in the pit for musical theatre productions. And like most teens...in lots of garage bands. I've performed for crowds of 20 to 20,000.
