FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $170/hr + a $60 travel/equipment fee. If it’s a wedding, or some event where I need to learn specific songs, I’ll charge more. I like to have a 2 hours minimum as well. That said, if you’re on a tighter budget, feel free to make an offer and we’ll see if we can make something work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication! I want to know what you expect from me and how I can make your event great. I recently had someone ghost me after committing to a job, so I now require a deposit before confirming an event :/ But generally I’m an easy-going, “my word is my bond", kind of guy; and I expect the same from my clients.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started taking piano lessons when I was 7 (thanks, Mom). At university I took a singing course, a song-writing course, as well as a composing for film class (my favorite class, no question). I’ve taken guitar lessons as well, but primarily I’ve been self-taught. Ultimately, any artistic pursuit develops through self-driven practice, rather than formal training or a degree.
