Starfix was the first repair company to respond to my late night, desperate plea for ASAP weekend help for my refrigerator which had suddenly began sporadically making a terrible noise all on its own. I was very scared that the noise would begin and NOT stop, then start smoking, or something worse, and I am not strong enough to pull the machine out on my own to unplug it! The friendly person responding to me, just before midnight on a Friday, was able to schedule me for the next day! They also accommodated the fact that I would need the latest in the afternoon/evening appointment window because I have been quite ill and mornings have been impossible. I received a 30 minute text message alert of their arrival before the appointment the next day and it was true to time. Within 30-45 minutes, the friendly and professional gentleman was able to diagnose the problem (failing water valve) and told me I would have an estimate for the repair the same evening. I paid the reasonable/average (but very reasonable for a Saturday!) service call fee of $75, which would be deducted from my total if I decided to use Starfix for the repair. I received the estimate totaling $193.64 (which had the -$75 deducted) in no less than 30 minutes after the repair man left. I clicked agree! The water valve part was ordered and Starfix reached out to me 4 days later when they received it to schedule me for a next day, late afternoon (thanks guys!) repair. Shortly after, they reached out again because they had a last minute opening the same evening which I was happy to accept. The same repair man showed up timely, following a 30 minute warning text. The fix took about an hour or so. He even did a couple of extra things for me: 1) He stood by patiently to allow me a couple of minutes to sweep/clean the area behind/under the fridge while he had it still pulled out; 2) he re-installed the wheels on the fridge so I could pull it out on my own if I ever needed to unplug it. Because, after this recent issue with the fridge, I now had a new fear, and had explained it to him. The fear was of something going badly wrong with the fridge, causing it to smoke or even worse, and then not being able to unplug it. It was very nice of him to help put it back on wheels and show me how to safely pull it out and back. Don’t forget to tip your repair men/women people, they are doing a service job, too! Alex came to my home on Monday to inspect our dryer; the part was ordered that day and by Wednesday mid-day, he had our dryer back in commission! Recently I had a costumer that was ready to replace their refrigerator that cost over $10k Customer had couple of the companies in the house to get the refrigerator done. I found a very cheap and working solution. Customer was really happy that I insisted to give me a chance to fix the problem.
