FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing for carpet installation starts at $.70/foot with a minimum installation charge of $225.00. This price includes the pick-up and delivery of new flooring, removal and disposal of old flooring and all installation related supplies. There are extra charges for specialty carpets (berber, patterned, woven, etc...) and for furniture moving, stairs, floor preparation, glue-down carpet pull-up, tile demo and other unusual items in the scope of the work. I bill repairs at $75.00/ hour plus materials, with a minimum charge of $125.00. Most repairs take less than 2-3 hours to complete.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is fairly straightforward and simple. If the job is just a repair or re-stretch, we set up a convenient appointment for me to complete the work and I come a do the repair. I can usually estimate repairs without the need to look at them first. Most repairs take less than two hours. If the project is a new flooring installation, we will need to set up a time for me to measure and determine the total scope of the project. This usually takes 30 - 45 minutes. I will leave you with an estimate, a general time-frame and range of dates that I can complete your work and, hopefully, all your questions & concerns addressed. If you decide to have me do your installation, I will require a deposit if I am supplying the flooring materials (carpet, pad, tile, etc.) . If not, payment in full is not due until the installation is satisfactorily completed. We then set up a date to do the install.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 27 years of experience installing, primarily, carpet but I have also installed a wide variety of other flooring products. I apprenticed with many different Journeyman Installers as a young man and learned many different techniques for quality installations. I have installed carpet in every place or way you could imagine and many that you wouldn't imagine. :) I've attended many training seminars over the years and am familiar with all of the carpets on the market today.
