Had a 220v EV charger installed in the garage. After speaking with the installer and asking some questions and voicing some watch outs I was getting from other people in regards to proper EV outlet installation, I didn’t feel confident in the installer that he was using proper parts. I wanted a second opinion so I had a different electrician come over to inspect the installation. Right away he noticed the incorrect 14-50 outlet was used and he also informed me that the 50A breaker that was installed was a used breaker. Very disappointed. Glad I got a second opinion but I should not have had to in the first place. The outlet on the left is what was installed first. $12 from Home Depot. The outlet on the right is the correct 14-50 used for EV charging that was installed by the second electrician. It’s bigger, can handle the load needed and even has an EV charging icon on it. I paid $795 for Tesla Electric installation and needed to have someone else come out to fix it.
