Thumbtack should vet these individuals as they represent your brand. My experience with this contractor was poor to say the least. Although the job got done, there was cloudy communications including the fact that there was a unspoken "site visit deposit fee," to determine if these folks would be able to do the job, but the fee would subtracted, from the final amount. Then the contractor didn't have upfront funds to purchase the required materials and needed an "advance," to get supplies, then I was informed that they would need 2 additional advances to "pay his employees," to keep them on the job. The job was delayed due to the contractor overbooking other local jobs and then I was informed after inquiring about a completion date, I was told that his vehicle was broke down! After the job was done, I cited how the repair looked and I mentioned about a better clean up of our room, I was told that he had not included a "clean up fee!" In concluding our transaction, I asked for an invoice and any receipts and got none.
