Jason is an excellent teacher who is patient and does an incredible job explaining difficult concepts to the level of each individual learner. He provides praise and gentle guidance and redirection. He asks my children what songs they are interested in, knowing they will practice them if they have buy-in. My son plays bass and guitar and on his first lesson he spoke to him about chords and had him use critical thinking skills to transfer that knowledge to the piano. His real world examples of music and music theory make sense and there have even been some concepts that clicked with me after years of musical instruction. He is a gifted teacher and musician.

Amazing teacher! Great at breaking things down so that it is easy to understand for everyone. It is very obvious he is very passionate about what he does, and is fantastic at creating an environment of not only success, but fun. I hope everyone else will enjoy learning music with Mr. Vawter as much as I did. Trust me when I say, you will not be let down, you're in the hands of one of the best music teachers out there.

Mr Vawter was without question the best teacher I ever had the privilege to learn from. He was very passionate about what he taught as well as making a connection with his students. He always had an open mind and an open heart. I also had the privilege to work beside him years later and got to really see how much work and effort he puts forth in everything he does. We’ve been close friends since then, even got to be in his wedding! Any student would be lucky to have him as teacher and he would be an amazing addition to any staff. He’s an honest, good man with great moral integrity and does what he can to serve others to the best of his abilities.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you are a family with more than one student or a student who wants to take both piano and voice lessons concurrently, ask me about a discount.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the our discovery lesson, I like to find out where the student is at musically. What do they know about music, even if it's not about this specific instrument. After we get acquainted, I'm better able to find out what they hope to get out of their lessons and how I can help them meet their own goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 3 degrees in Music: -Bachelors in Music Education from Lee University -Masters in Music Educations from Lee University -Masters in Choral Conducting from the University of Southern Mississippi.
