Dear A.J. I first would like to sincerely apologize for arriving so late to you project. I value you time and there is no excuse. If I can rectify the situation in anyway please let me know. I’d like to suggest a free service of one to two hours labor at any time in the future. Next, I would like to explain to the situation regarding the cost increase. #1 The emergency gas shut off for the appliance was located under the bottom and behind the slide locked drawers of the cabinet to the left of the cooktop. This was not only a safety issue but also made it extremely difficult to attach your appliance and test for leaks (field gas line tests require a visual inspection with a soap bubble solution). #2 The gas line in supplying the cooktop was falling down from its position in the basement below and required strapping to raise it. This strapping was installed to not only make your home safe from a gas leak in the future by supporting the pipe. Also raising the shut off upstairs, lessening the difficulty in turning off the gas for the kitchen in the event of an emergency. #3 The original part you provided was not long enough to reach the appliance. This required a quick trip to the home centor for a $67 purchase wich was applied to the invoice at cost. The part that I bought was 20 inches longer than the original part plus I added an extra 24 inch part to be sure to be long enough. We don’t like to stretch or make tight corners with gas lines. As no two jobs are the same, this situation was one that we felt that the safety to you and your property took priority. We are a growing company and we are adapting to the increase in jobs, we do take full responsibility of being late and we will be diligent to correct this in the future.
