FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's nearly impossible to give a flat rate to everyone when it comes to website design. Different clients have different needs (i.e., brochure-type website, shopping cart, membership website, etc.). I do offer a fixed fee for logo design and on-page search engine optimization (SEO). I also provide different plans for on-going search engine marketing (SEM) based on need. Social media marketing is based on a fixed fee depending on the number of posts per week needed. What you will get from me are very reasonable prices because I don't have to pay for employee expenses (i.e., payroll taxes, benefits, etc.). In order to cover these costs, larger companies have to raise their pricing to make a profit.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a FREE 30-MIN CONSULTATION to define the majority of the features you will want included in the site. When possible, I provide a firm quote on the phone. Even if there are more features required that I did not consider, I will stand by my original firm quote. I never come back and say, "Well this is going to cost more."
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
You can get a certification to look good on your resume, but it simply represents that you paid for and completed a training program. It doesn't guarantee that you will be good at what you do. Besides knowing the mechanics of web design you need to have a creative mind, which can't be taught. I am self-taught, so I have practical real-time experience. The advantage of working with me is that I am always on the "cutting edge" of new technology. This way, I design sites that aren't out-of-date my the time they go live.
