Cooking Block is where the community comes together. Our classes are more than just learning how to make something; they are a cultural enriching experience, a social experience and a culinary growing experience. We teach principles and techniques not recipes. We have deep respect for food. This is seen in the high quality ingredients we choose and how we help you to identify with these ingredients, how utilize them properly and how to present them beautifully to your family and friends. Many of our adult evening classes are paired with beautiful wines from our in-house sommelier that enhance the enjoyment of the dishes you prepare.
Every day is different! We have 50+ programs and growing. Skill building program of all levels. Unique, prospective-changing programs for kids. Over 10 specific pastry and baking programs. World culture programs from five continents: From Asia we have programs that feature specific regions or cuisines of China, Japan, Vietnam, and India. From Europe; Italy, Spain, France, and Germany. From North America: Cuba, Mexico, Cajun/Creole, New England, Napa. From South America: Brazil, Peru, Argentina. From Africa: Eastern and Western Africa. We also have comprehensive home economic programs.

I had my 46 Birthday at the Cooking Block and it was outstanding!
My wonderful wife Chris set everything up with John and had my best friends join us for a variety of food from salmon, lamb meatballs and some of the best tapas made right there in the kitchen. Many of us were involved in the cooking and it just was a really great time. Thank you John for providing a wonderful time for great food with great friends. We will be back!

"Wow! Without a doubt the best dining experience I have ever had! The food was beyond belief and the pairings perfect. I love the setting too...comfortable, unpretentious, allowing us to informally mingle and explore. Would definitely do again!"

Vegetable Done Right Cooking Class at the Cooking Block
The class was not only fun but I was very pleased with how much I learned considering that I cook for our family almost every night. The atmosphere is fun and hands on and I even had a chance to make new friends as well. The food we cooked was delicious and I learned how to create a vibrant color for the veggies we cooked, learned about which veggies to cook together and about what complements certain veggies. I was very impressed with how seamless the class was and the fun atmosphere. Thank you!

If you are in Redlands, CA for any reason you must absolutely visit the Cooking Block cooking school. We had such a fun time with friends we were visiting. They were very excited to take us there as they had attended many of the cooking classes offered before. We had not planned on doing an activity like this on our stay but are very glad that we did.
We participated in a French cooking class that was paired with wines for each course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and an excellent chef. Not only were we treated to excellent food and wine, we actually learned a lot about the regions that they hailed from.
We met the owner of this fine establishment. His name was John and he was very hand's on with the entire night. Probably one of the reasons it was such a great experience. He made us feel very welcome and was genuinely glad that we all came. It was very apparent why this business was so successful. Many of the other guests were return customers and could not say enough about how much fun these events were. This event was sold out.
Thank you to our great friends and to Cooking Block for a most wonderful experience. Cheers and continued success and excellence!
