I can't say enough good things about Virginia Houser and Gray House Dog Training. She is passionate, professional, always on time, and always available by phone when we had questions throughout the program as well as post-program. Our rescue German Shepherd Husky, Taniel has fear aggression toward strangers and we knew we needed some help before the worst happened. She helped us understand Taniel's mindset behind the behavior and gave us great techniques to help him over time. Not only did she assist with Taniel, but our husky Apollo who needed some help being put in line as well. She gave me and my husband as dog owners some necessary training as well on how our behaviors impact the dogs. Taniel has already begun to see improvement after the 6 week program! Even though we still have a long way to go, her services got us heading in the right direction with him. We can't recommend her enough for your dog training needs!

Details: 2 dogs • 2 - 10 years old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Private dog training lessons • General obedience training • Leash pulling • House training • Barking • I travel to the dog trainer • The dog trainer travels to me

Virginia is an excellent dog trainer. She is patient and kind. We have a 10-year-old Golden who likes to sit and take in the neighborhood on walks. Tough to convince her to keep moving. In just two sessions, Virginia helped all of us have happier walks. Virginia explained what to do and why. We appreciate her knowledge and insights. She also trained our two dog walkers. We highly recommend Virginia!

I fostered a 5 month old Coonhound that was rescued from a neglectful home. She had very little social skills and a slew of medical issues. The immediate issue, after seeing to the medical, was her food aggression because I have two other dogs. After researching and speaking to a few other dog trainers, I chose Gray House Dog Training because Victoria (the trainer) felt each dog she trains is a separate case and she would evaluate her to see what training would best fit the individual dog. The other trainers had a set training system for all cases. She had my insecure, neglected pup sitting on command at her first session! Victoria interacted with and evaluated my pup before she came up with a plan on how to feed her to eliminate the aggression. And it worked! She also worked with her on a structured routine teaching her how to walk on a leash. We learned basic commands as well. Victoria taught me how to continue training on the days she was not here. It was crucial my pup was trained before she was adopted in order for her to make the transition to her forever home successful. Not only did Victoria teach my pup how to live as a part of a family, she taught her acceptance of love and trust. I am happy to say my Coonie is in her forever home happily living with two Coonie sisters! Politely sharing food and love! Victoria played a crucial part of giving this poor pup a second chance for a wonderful life.
Gray House Dog Training's reply
Thank you, Amy! Bunny will always be one of my go-to examples that aggression is not a final sentence for any dog. With the right approach for the right personality, any dog can overcome learned behaviors just like Bunny. I'm so proud of her and of you for following through with weeks of hand feeding and overall patience with her puppy energy while she learned to trust people and dogs around her food again. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you and Bunny. :)

So far, I am beyond impressed with Virginia’s dog training skills. If our dog not improve it will be entirely on us for not doing our homework. Even after the consultation we saw an improvement: it was as though she’d sat down with our dog and had a conversation about what we wanted from him and he said “ Oh, I wish I had known! You never told me before. “ Highly recommend Gray House Dog training!
