FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most clients prefer that I charge a flat fee based on the scope of the work (how much work there is to do). 3D views are included in the Design Services Fee. The fee does not include, if your project has permit-required renovation, the licensed Trades or a licensed General Contractor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is no charge for our first meeting, and subsequent review of the Design Summary & Proposal. When you hire me next step is to schedule your Design Interview, so I can learn all about you, your design ideas and priorities. Then my designing begins.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been designing professionally, full-time, for 29 years. I have a business license for Interior Design Consulting and I'm studying for the exams to obtain my Interior Design ASID license. I’m always reading industry news, books and journals. I attend trade events to stay current on ideas, thinking, and advancements in interior design and construction, in New York City, North Carolina and Chicago. I’m really excited about traveling to Paris and London next year to attend those professional shows. I’m always learning to advance professionally in ways that help my clients. I might obtain a certificate specifically for Kitchen Design and then certification too in Building Design. I’m not sure if those will be redundant. In the meantime, It is important to note that I'm an Interior Design Consultant, not yet a licensed Interior Designer per se, so when your projects require permitting for your renovation, remodel or for building your home or restaurant from scratch, I will work with licensed trades, General Contractor, and/or Architect to design for your construction needs. I'm personally involved in all phases of the design process: overall design direction and vision, color palette, layout, elevations, furniture selection, and optional purchasing, receiving, inspecting, delivery and install, AND I work with only the best furniture makers, upholsterers, and other industry professionals.
