Tech came in and I explained the issue. Possible ductwork leak. Never did the tech go in the attic to check for a leak nor on the roof to check my AC unit. Just said $6500 for ductwork and $15,000 for a new AC unit. Get this, Wanted to charge me $299 for a written estimate. Obviously, north star is just trying to extract as much money as possible from you. A complete waste of time, money and effort. Stay away. On a scale of 1 to ten, a 0.

Northstar is my new goto for HVAC & Plumbing. The crew was great, the owner was great, the office staff who followed up on the phone was great. I wish I had used them for the full install instead of the vents only. The company sent to use by HD, were NOT people you want to do business with; choose Northstar!

I didn’t hire this company for 2 reasons: 1) I felt uncomfortable with him asking me if I was the homeowner and 2) I felt like his pricing was astronomical for the simple job it was (tankless water flush). I feel like I may have been up-charged because I’m a woman and he figured I don’t know better. He quoted me $199 but I went with another company from Thumbtack that charged me $140 and the guy showed me how to do it myself so I don’t have to pay someone again. It was only 40 minutes.

These guys were excellent! Prompt, professsional, knowledgable and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better service. I had a leak in my hot water heater. They replaced the water heater, fixed my central heat problem and gave me a great quote on getting central air. I will be using them again.

Quality work. Reasonably priced. Very pleased. Update 5/22/17: After the installation of our furnace, we began to have problems. Our air conditioning unit, which has never had any issues, began to leak from the venting to our hardwood floor whenever it was turned on. We called the technician and he came by and told us the issue was unrepairable and that we needed a new air conditioning system. We later discovered that the underneath of the coil has been visibly damaged where the drain pan has been bent causing water to funnel away from drain lines. The cooling unit, being relatively new, was damaged before it reached its useful life. We believe our furnace was carelessly or incompetently installed, resulting in permanent damage to our central air conditioning. We estimate the cost of a replacement to be between $7000-$10000 for a basic unit, depending on the contractor. If this company decides not to take responsibility for their negligence, we will seek other alternatives. Needless to say, we will have another contractor correct the issue so we can get on with our lives.

We except all forms of payment, and financing on approved credit. We offer senior and veteran discounts (not combined). We offer low diagnostic fee, free estimates on replacement, and many other services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We set an in home appointment to see the scope of work. From there we give options on the service needed whether its repair or replacement with up front, flat rate pricing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our technicians / installers have been in the HVAC/plumbing industry 10+ years, with half being 20+ years. Our field staff is cross trained in plumbing and HVAC so any needs you might have we have a 1 stop shop without having multiple technicians out to your home!
