Introduction
A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Raquel Rivera has over 8 years of experience in the worlds of pop, jazz and world music. Both an experienced Vocalist and Composer, Rivera has performed on stages across the United States, performing alongside noted prominent musicians such as ROSA Vocal Group, Thinkin' Big Band, José Mercé, the Luis D'Elias Ensemble, and her own project, the Rivera Collective.
Rivera's teaching style emphasizes essential vocal technique, speech singing and breathing consistency, helping students to bring out and strengthen the natural resonance of their unique voices. Rivera takes the time to also nurture the art of performing, creating a comfortable atmosphere for students to explore interpretation and connection with their potential audience.
Raquel is also an accomplished composer and songwriter and offers coaching to aspiring singer-songwriters upon request.

Raquel is an extremely talented vocalist with very diverse capabilities.
I have personally hired her to sing in my own group, which requires the ability to sing in Spanish and English - within different musical styles, such as Jazz & Latin.
I have been so satisfied with her abilities, I requested her collaboration on my upcoming album.
Besides that, we have worked together as a duo in private events which were fantastic.
I have also been given the great chance to be an audience member to watch her and her own band perform, which was a phenomenal, colorful performance.

Raquel has sung for my big band before (Thinkin' Big Band). She is so professional and came prepared ready to sing with the passion she has. Her voice is beautiful and she is one of the best scat soloists I have heard. Every time I hear her sing it just gives me chills with how smooth and easy it sounds coming from her soul. She has an incredible heart and she puts that into every single thing that she does. I would hire her again and again for anything that I needed.

Raquel Rivera is inspired and her music takes chances. When you see her perform, you can tell she knows music is what she's meant to do and she loves doing it. She doesn't rest on just having a great voice. Raquel seems to exhibit a kind of musician's second naïveté, where already being a solidly talented vocalist means that she has the freedom to explore the creative expression that begs for interpretation--the best examples of art do this (here I'm thinking especially of Alex's Song.). Her music is wonderful.

Raquel Rivera is a wonderful jazz singer who I have been going out to listen to at clubs in the Boston area for close to 6 years. She has at the same time a very soothing and lilting voice that can deliver some of my old faves like Got You Under My Skin and Meditating How Sweet Life Will Be When You Come Back to Me, as well as some great original songs, being a very fine songwriter too. With the smooth elegance of Peggy Lee and the spunk of Rosemary Clooney. Raquel has a voice and presence that is worth taking in.
