FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are so many variables that the short answer is no. Although, I sometimes break it down into a per image pricing - depending on the project. However, there are many factors that apply, such as: rush services, heavy retouching, licensing, etc. So it's really hard to be specific without the client answering some basic questions about their project first.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After I receive an inquiry, I usually put together a an estimate with a few questions for the client to answer, as well as services agreement for the client to review. If the client agrees, all they have to do is digitally sign the agreement and we move forward with the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught. I studied psychology and English in college, but was always drawn to the arts: painting, drawing, film, music. I devoured hundreds of hours of materials on photography and consequently found the process easy to understand. Everything I learned is applied in my work with great care and in small doses. I believe it's easy to overwhelm an audience when telling a story through a picture by doing too much. So it's an exercise in restraint which adds the final touch.
