Introduction
Tareq Rantisi - world Percussionist. Born 1984, in Jerusalem. Tareq started his career playing Middle Eastern percussion at age 12 and as a young self-taught musician had already shared the stage with some of the most distinguished musicians in the region. In 2008, Tareq received the Al-Qattan Foundation Music Scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, receiving a degree in Percussion Performance. Tareq’s studies brought him into a deep dialogue with many styles of music including jazz, Afro-Cuban, Carnatic Indian, and Brazilian. Since Berklee, Tareq has developed a wide body of educational work, offering master classes, workshops and private lessons throughout the world in collaboration with Arabic Music Retreat, Brandeis University, The Center for Arabic Culture, NAFDA,
Tareq lives between New York and Boston City and performs throughout the world.
Music is a universal language through which we can connect across culture and experience, and every student comes with her or his own musical knowledge, interest and background. I love teaching students of all levels and enjoy the process of figuring out the right method and teaching technique for all my students.
My classes will help your creativity, coordination, focus, self-confidence, emotional growth, discipline, relaxation and of course better drumming.

Tareq is a great teacher. I have been taking lessons with him for the last three years. He comes to my place for an hour every week. I study with him Middle Eastern percussion Riq and Doumbek. He's always on time, prepared. Our lesson, sometimes go 15-20 minutes over time. He never charges me extra. I'm so happy to know him as a person and a teacher.

Absolutely fantastic teacher! I've had some lessons with Tareq. He is a great person and musician, he listens carefully and explains everything thoroughly. He gave me great exercises that helped me improve my playing, sense of time and rhythm. It is a great experience to have lessons with him, and I think his attitude is what makes the difference. I highly recommend taking lessons with him.

Yoo this Dude is the real deal. I had a great experience studying with him, Tareq is an extremely talented musician and teacher. He helped me a lot with my Cajon playing. Seeing him perform will keep you motivated. He has some crazy hand and finger techniques from all that Arabic drumming.
Check him out. Highly recommended. Tareq is the man.
