FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Sometimes people ask if I take insurance. I don't process insurance and all of my clients are self-pay, but I do have a reduced pricing option for clients who pay for monthly sessions at the beginning of the month rather than pay for each individual session. I like to create pricing systems that are affordable and also reflect the value of what clients receive as a result of working with me. I offer a variety of services and the rates can vary depending on what they client is looking for. Offering the option of either individual, one-at-a-time sessions or packages over several weeks or months is a way to maintain some flexibility with client needs and help them remain committed to the progress of their desired goals. Packages offer discounts that make continued work more affordable. It’s worth the investment because the payoff shows when your life is balanced and you’re living and working in your “sweet spot!”
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Developing a comfortable, strong rapport is very important to me. If clients are going to share their life issues, trust is the single most important factor in developing a great coaching relationship. When working with a new client, I spend sufficient time understanding who he or she is, where they are currently, and where they want to go. Each person and every situation is unique so we work collaboratively on client goals so they can get where they need to be. I like practical! Different people have different needs, but one thing is the same: everyone wants results. Talking about what we want to change is great, but taking practical steps toward what we want is the only way we'll get it. I like to help people do something so they see actual changes in their lives and movement toward their goals. That said, pacing is important. Since every situation is unique, the time it takes to accomplish things can differ. Pacing your steps in the process is key. You move as fast or slow as you need to at any point in the process. Whatever pace you need, I can keep you moving at the right one for YOU! Not too fast. Not too slow. Just right to get what you need and want! *** I work with all of my clients on the phone or online (Skype/FaceTime/Zoom), so working remotely is really convenient and effective. You can decide which will be best for you; either phone call or video chat. Either works great!***
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology/Audiology. While I'm not a practicing speech therapist anymore, there are elements of how I serve others that remain. A large part of that work is assessment and understanding where a client is currently. Knowing the reality of where you are helps determine what comes next. Though specific to language and communication needs, there exists a desire for change and transformation, which is exactly what I do now; partnering with clients to help them achieve their goals and see real change in their lives. Change that will impact them in a positive way. I'm a natural encourager. Helping others is second nature and the gift of seeing what is possible for them brings hope, healing, and the change they are looking for! My Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling shaped much of how I work with others. Matters of the head and heart can be difficult to manage alone; sometimes we need outside insight and perspective. Developing an understanding of healthy thoughts and emotions makes all the difference in how we think and feel about ourselves and others. Healthy thinking is critical and I can help people develop that. When we have a healthy mind, we develop healthy emotions, which in turn allows us to make healthy decisions, leading to healthy behaviors. It all works together...and starts with how we think! Pursuing Life/Leadership Coaching coursework brought home the process of setting clear, healthy goals to achieve desired results. Coaching focuses on what’s good and right and uses it to move a client forward toward what they want. It helps overcome obstacles preventing progress; removing those things that get in the way of achieving what’s possible. In a word…transformation. Each component of my training prepared me to help others get from where they are to where they want to be, whether it is in developing positive habits, overcoming stress, strengthening relationships, performing better in their jobs, or writing a resume for a new one. Change is possible and worth the work to make it happen!
