I have done a lot of general maintenance type work throughout my life and I currently have years of experience in repairing and installing doors as well as doing plumbing as a professional. I specialize in repairing and installing pre-hung door assemblies, prepping and installing door slabs to fit into the existing jamb, replacing weather-stripping, adjusting doors for better fit and operation, installing trim around doors, installing door hardware, and jamb repairs. I also do some small finish plumbing work such as installing, toilets, vanities, and faucets. I am great at problem solving with outstanding customer service skills, as I take pride in pleasing the client as a first priority. Could not be happier with how Kurtis installed numerous interior door slabs + hardware. From the very start, Kurtis helped me out by answering a ton of questions, which ensured I had the right door handles and hinges on hand, and that I had measured and prepared everything correctly (we provided the door slabs to install). Living in an older house, there are lots of "gotchas" that you really need a professional and experienced contractor for- Kurtis is exactly that. He easily handled every curveball, like twisted jambs, out of plumb frames, and differing strike plate placement. He even went above and beyond when the door slabs arrived from the supplier with incorrect latch bore centering, and fixed that no problem. To top it all off, he was very reasonably priced with all the work performed, and finished exactly on schedule (despite all the gotchas he encountered). Every single door looks beautiful and works perfectly since the install. Highly recommend Kurtis and we will definitely be using his services in the future.

I hired Franklin Install and Repair to replace my existing front door and add a storm door. Kurtis communicated regularly through the bidding process. He came out and looked at the door to be sure of what needed to be done. He gave me a complete list of items to buy and a thorough quote of what would be completed. He arrived on time the day of the job. He cleaned up his mess and installed a beautiful new front door. He took great care in making sure it looked nice and it sure does. I've had many experiences with contractors where I was not satisfied with the quality of the work, I do not feel that way about Franklin Install and Repair. Everything he installed looks nice. I really appreciate the hard work and would call this contractor again.

Kurtis did such a great job with our sink install. Months later everything is still working great & as expected. Then he answered several other questions I had for my around the house to-do list and provided estimates on some of our needed door installs.

I cannot select all 5 options as to what I liked about working with Franklin Install and Repair - but, here’s what is great about working with Kurtis: First, his bid (along with purchasing the door from a vendor and having it painted) came in hundreds less than the other bids received. Second, he responds quickly - he arrived just hours after request a bid through Thumbtack. He always arrived earlier than expected, but would text to be sure that worked for my schedule. And the install didn’t take as long as he estimated. Lastly, his guidance on managing the door vendor, looking for a painter and considerations for the painting of the door were invaluable. Please consider Kurtis for your project!

I provide an optional and additional disposal fee for the project I do.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
They contact me, I respond in a timely manner, they send pictures and information that will help me give them an estimate, I review the information and respond with an estimate and day and time, the client confirms or we work out a time that will work, I text the day before the project to confirm our scheduled time, and text again the day of the project to let the client know I am on the way..
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have life long experience in working with my hands and problem solving, but I also have a couple years working in the plumbing industry under a professional and installing plumbing in new construction houses. I also have over 4 years of professional experience as a door technician installing and repairing door and windows.
