FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$40/session, flat rate, no contracts. A session is anywhere from 45 minutes to and hour depending on goals for that session. College students get half off, $20/session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My profession is new and, unfortunately, does not require any certifications or licenses. This is dangerous. Halfway through my undergraduate program at RIT I switched to Exercise Science to have a better understanding for what I was teaching. That year I also took a Certified Personal Trainer exam, only to be disappointed at how easy it was for someone to pay $300 and become certified. I now hold a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA which is a gold standard in the industry. I am one of very few parkour instructors nationwide who has a degree in Exercise Science and a CSCS
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to get into fitness and started doing some research online about how to improve strength and what not. I had never picked up a magazine or gone to a gym before this. I was utterly disgusted at how much misinformation that was and it took me months of research to find quality information. I started helping others and found I really liked it.
