July 15, 2017 After searching for a new property management company for the last two years I stumbled upon Thumbtack and Lisa Wright of Maryland Property Rentals (MPR). Our initial contact was very refreshing. After explaining my situation Lisa assured me that she was up to the challenge and willingly accepted the job. I have to admit, MPR has defied all my expectations; that being, Lisa minimized the number of hurdles involved in taking over the management of my property, and has been most impressive. Considering my past experience with another property management company, MPR has shown nothing less than professionalism and seeing that every little detail is satisfactorily taken care of. Secured MPR as the property management company for my dad's property in DC. Lisa was very helpful, answered all my questions, has an in depth understanding of the DC landlord tenant laws to ensure all checks in balances are in place to manage his property. This is an ongoing relationship with this property management company which we started on July 1, 2015. So far things have worked out very well. They are professional and keep us informed of what is going on. Transitioning from one company to another is a difficult process and they have worked hard to make it go smoothly and to deal with the unavoidable bumps in the road. So far so great!! We recently posted a request for property managers to assume management of my mother's rental property in Baltimore City. Lisa was EXTREMELY patient in answering all of our questions and provided very helpful advice for steps we can take in the interim, as my mom is dealing with a challenging Section 8 tenant. Our Management fee is only 10% the average across the states of Maryland and DC
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We setup a site inspection at which time we come out to meet the owner for a tour of the property or the owners appointed contact. This tour also helps us to learn about the property and be able to share these highlights and passion as we would have learned from the owner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. We continuously look for training opportunities especially with NARPM and other Property Management training organizations to improve our offerings. We also commit to completing our continuous education programs to keep abreast of changes in the industry that affects the legal, financial, organizational and all other aspects of our business.
