Over the past 6 years, I've been teaching scores of adult and high school students. From these varied experiences, I've learned the winning formula for great tutoring: patience, understanding, creativity, organization, and a strong knowledge of the subject matter.
I graduated from Tufts University with a PhD in mechanical engineering. My areas of expertise include algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, and statistics, from high school to university level and business analysis for MBA students. I also have experience in tutoring SAT math, SAT physics, GRE, and GMAT.
Teaching has always been my passion. I have been teaching home-school students in math, statistics and physics since 2004. I have a very strong science and math background - something that many students struggle with.
The real beauty of teaching comes from the realization that each student is a keyhole, and the best tutors are the ones who can shape their teaching keys to fit the student. This is a life-long learning process for tutors, so dedication to teaching and a love of learning are essential qualities. There is no better joy than seeing when the key fits and the light goes on in the student's head, and you realize that they now understand a concept that was previously difficult for them to grasp.
