Because I'm not only a passionate dancer, I'm a specialist of teaching. You will meet lots of good dancers, but how many of them can really explain a move and break it down so that everybody can understand it ? Teaching is my life mission. What I like most of it, is to see people growing into a better state of global health and better chances of happiness. Sharing their experience is also a growing impulse for me !

Helia was my belly dance instructor for almost two years in Florida. I would still be taking lessons from her if I did not move abroad. Her style of teaching gave me an appreciation for the art of belly dance while making me feel very comfortable expressing myself. A friend was taking lessons with Helia for a few weeks before encouraging me to join; my friend and I were both in it for the fun and exercise. However, through Helia's wonderful guidance we soon found ourselves on stage performing in front of an audience, an experience we both thoroughly enjoyed! Helia makes you feel so comfortable you can't help but enjoy performing her beautiful style of belly dance. I now live in the Middle East and I haven't found another belly dance instructor like Helia. I miss her and the friends with whom I danced.

I've spent the past twelve years studying other types of dance and had wanted to try belly dance for a very long time. Coming into Helia's class made me feel warm and welcome and has helped me to grow as a dancer!

I have been taking belly dance classes from Helia for around a year now. I never thought I would be able to dance, but have always wanted to learn, and Helia has helped me learn and find out I can dance! She is a great teacher, is fun to work with, and really cares about her students.

I've been taking Helia's bellydancing classes for several months and I love it! It's an escape from the cares of the week. I always look forward to Monday nights! My balance has improved (considering how terrible it was!) and I have a greater sense of ownership of my own body. Helia is a patient and thorough teacher. She expresses an attitude that we will all learn in our own time, which is great, because she allows us to be patient with ourselves.

Pour moi, non seulement tu es une bonne danseuse, mais surtout une bonne pédagogue. Une personne généreuse qui prend vraiment le temps de nous apprendre. Tu n'es pas au cours pour te regarder danser, mais bien pour observer et nous amener à aimer danser. Tu nous donnes confiance en nous. Merci Hélia! The price is the same in all locations. Just show up 10 min before class time with cash or check or register on movingharmonies.com with a credit card. $49 for 4 classes or 1 class for $16.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New students are always welcome! Not necessary to call. Just show up 10 min before class time. Trust the schedule currently on movingharmonies.com. We are very diligent at showing changes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm about to complete a master degree in dance teaching. My memoir researches how a holisitc point of view (somatic education) inspires my teaching and enhances the personal benefits of the dance for the participants to my classes.
