FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most average sized rooms of carpet are about $50. Smaller rooms sometimes can be combined or considered half a room to save you money. Hallways up to 20' are $20, up to 10' are $10. Landings and other small areas are about $10. We clean regular closets for free, and walk-ins are between $15-30 depending on size. Area rugs are about $1 per square foot for a topical cleaning in the home, with free protectant. If they have urine or other stubborn stains or repairs needed to be fixed, we take the to our rug studio and thoroughly clean them in the rug bath and treat for odors and stains with free protectant (wool rugs are more vulnerable to stains and I want to know that your rugs are protected so they will stay nice for you). Furniture is between $50-100 for chairs ($10 for seat cushions), and $100-800 for sofas depending on length of the piece, number of pillows, delicate fabrics (velvet, cotton, antique). Draperies are $50-100/panel cleaned as they hang. Custom rug designs for your home or business start at $600 to put your logo or name into a nice entryway rug or carpet inset. Water damage is billed to your insurance, so you pay nothing out of pocket.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will respond quickly and invite any questions, ask a lot of questions and give options and a ballpark estimate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes this year I got my IICRC certification in Smoke and Fire damage, and Odor Control. And I also got my IICRC Water Damage Technician and company Certification. Previously, I completed IICRC certification in Upholstery & Fabric cleaning -- learned so much! Chem Dry offers us an annual training meetings and offers 3-5 additional classes per year on topics like rug cleaning, leather cleaning, marketing, pet urine removal and water damage. Recently both John and I were able to get water damage certified, previously we took the 3-day Applied Structural Drying class in Tennessee and learn how to get homes dry when water spills, from a broken pipe or overflow of clean water. We had to actually dry out a 4 room home inside the building, the attic with wood floors, the basement crawl space and a basement block room with drywall. Every type of flooring, wall surface and furniture were sopping wet! We work to calculate the moisture in the wet and dry areas, set the air purifiers, dehumidifiers, fans and furniture to dry. Often the next day everything is almost completely dry, pad, carpet, etc. I was able to buy the top of the line equipment so that we can help our customers whenever they have a water damage. Since Chem Dry is doing this with us, we know that we will have backup in our technical department, in our mad scientist inventors coming up with the products we need and the business back end. They are available as are other Chem Dry owners who have been doing this for years.
