FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I would like to personally meet you, talk over the job, and price it based on exactly what you need. I have found, that sharing this information on the internet, gives the fly-by-nighters a nice resource for coming up with an easy pricing system. This much I will promise. To do what I can, within reason to beat or meet my licensed competitors on the fence price and installation. The pattern of a fly-by-night: Someone without a history will give a very low estimate. Take your money up front. Do sub-standard job. Or just take the money, with no installation, never to be heard from again. It's that simple. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against a low price, just the motives behind some people who give one. Customers stand behind my honesty, integrity in low prices. - How did you get started doing this type of work?
After leaving the military 70s, I began helping my father at a new place he started. I ended up liking the business. For the next couple of decades, I used a few of the things I'd learned along the way, welding, electrical, mechanical and carpentry skills to help his fence business grow. One day I finally decided to use the knowledge I had gained thoughout the years to strike out on my own. For now, I am as I have described, but when the time is right, I will gladly grow into the next level. afriendinfence.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Wood fence. Frankly, many people are price shocked when inquiring about PVC, aluminum or steel. Many dislike the look of a chain link. Some folks care very little about price, instead seeking something that will last and look good forever. Wood fence qualifies as the most common job. Whatever your are interested in, I will gladly provide an estimate. afriendinfence.
