FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I travel once a year to workshops in various locations throughout the country. Last year I went to Utah and studied under the amazing Skye Johansen and Katie Moss who specialize in newborn portraits. On a regular basis I attend online classes and workshops to keep up to date with current trends and latest technology in the field.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When it comes to preserving your families memories keep in mind that you get what you pay for. With affordable DSLR cameras flooding the market, the photography business has become inundated with hobbyists. Beware of the "Momographer" who has spent the last few years learning photography by photographing their own children.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I pour my heart and soul into every session. There is so much preparation involved that most people don't quite expect. I usually prepare for a session weeks in advance beginning with getting to know the client's likes and interests. This will usually spark an idea that I then build a story or theme around. At that point I do tons of research. Lastly I purchase whatever is needed to evoke emotion in my images. If I can't find it... I find a way to make it!
