- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved reading. I was reading on a college level in elementary school. I applied in my late teens to work at a publishing house but was turned away because they said I was too young and get bored. My love of reading has never wavered. but the way books are put into the market place has definitely changed. I came across an author who was looking for people to read her book and write reviews quite by accident. I reached out to her and she accepted my offer. I love it. I recently had to stop working traditionally in an office due to some health issues. Freelancing allows me to work on my own time and schedule. I have always secretly pined to be able to read books and get paid for it. There are many books, blogs and e-content that get published with mistakes. I always pick up on them quickly. With so many unconventional writers and freelancer writers out there, the amount of errors I see in published works, blogs and websites have increased exponentially. If I can help a few writers have a flawless work, then thousands are happy. One of the top complaints in comments online is misspelled words. The second biggest complaint is the story taking too long to be told.
