FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes I do take part in classes and workshops to hone my skills and become better all the time. I belong to the Professional Photograghers Association of San Diego PPSDC and they are continually providing inspiring speakers and training events. I also return to my local college where I completed all photography courses offered to keep up on current trends and here from other professionals about their businesses and creative ideas. This week I am signed up to take a workshop from an internationally aclaimed expert in lighting. I can't wait. There is always more to learn.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I received a camera as a gift back in the 80's and then went to the local college and took classes in film photography. I took both Black and White and color courses from beginning to advanced studio techniques. At the time I was an Interior Design student and I was just taking these for fun. I mainly shot Architecture and commercial products back then. My daughter got interested in photography and convinced me to take digital classes with her. So we went back and took all the photography classes from beginning to advanced in digital photography. In that process I discovered that I really LOVE people. So here I am doing mainly portraits on site and in studio and wedding photography.

Some of the information you should know is what steps do the photographers take to assure that your special day will be captured well. Do they have extra equipment? Do they provide a second shooter or assistant? What kind of formal training do they have? Do they have good references? Can they project your style into their work? Do they have a personality that you are comfortable spending time with you and your friends and family? When all of these questions are answered to your satisfaction you can be assured of a pleasant and rewarding experience. Okay so now, let's go make some memories together!
