FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $100 / hour, and bill for a minimum of 1hr per visit. Jobs of 5hrs+ are discounted to $75 / hour. For jobs that require two pairs of hands, Parker and I together bill at $150 / hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This is your home we're working on, so the first thing I want to understand is what you want the finished product to look like. We'll start by reviewing photos and samples. Once I'm clear on your goals, I'll outline a work plan and walk you through what materials I'll use, the steps, and how long I expect it to take. If you want anything changed about the plan, we'll do so. Then I'll begin the work and keep you updated until it's done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As of today I've flipped five houses, own three rental properties, and handle all work and maintenance myself. But that's not how I started. The first project I ever undertook was a kitchen facelift. I repainted the cabinets, then hired a guy to install trim. He did half the job, took my money, and never came back. At the time I couldn't afford to hire anyone else, so I had to figure out how to do the other half. Since then I've been fortunate to be trained by several excellent tradespeople, kept on figuring more things out, and over time learned how to: - Tile (backsplashes, floors, showers) - Install vinyl flooring - Hang sheetrock - Patch and repair walls - Paint interiors & exteriors - Troubleshoot outlets, switches, and light fixtures - Fix or replace plumbing - Install cabinets - Replace fixtures
