Yinxuan is the best mandarin tutor I have gotten for my son. She is very good at what she does. I have not had my son be as interested in a lesson as he has been with Yinxuan. She is very organized and has a lesson plan for the lesson. After watching the lessons she has with my son, I may even begin taking lessons with Yinxuan. 5 ⭐️’s!

Yinxuan spent 30 minutes evaulating my son and speaking with both him and me and I felt that her analysis of where he was at his current level was very accurate. She also spent another 30 minutes doing homework with him and my son felt that she was very helpful, smart, efficient and patient and was such a welcome relief to his previous method of doing homework.

Lessons are specific to my goals, approachable, and challenging. Yinxuan Gu is very responsive and engaging with great attention to detail. I’m very happy with my lessons thus far and feel motivated to continue self study in between meet-ups. Thank you!

I really like Gu Lao Shi’s Mandarin class. I like how she set up the class activities to integrate real-life scenarios. I think her own multicultural and multilingual backgrounds make her understand how hard it is to learn a new language, so she’s always fun, patient, and engaging in her sessions. I feel comfortable asking any questions.

I remember in Yinxuan’s class. We would always start it by laughing with each other and sharing life experiences. Then we would get into doing math problems like algebra and geometry. Then we would play fun math games using the math we learned. After that, I would often see her outside the classroom and talk on and on with her. When Mandarin class came, it was a whole another level of fun. She would often joke around with us about how the symbols can look like certain things. Like for meat, she said that it looks like sausages strung up. However, it wasn’t just about learning the language, she also taught us about the culture in China. For example, she had us create a power point on a city in China. Mine was Beijing. I now know what the specialty dish is over there and what landmarks are in Beijing. Other people did places like Hong Kong and Shanghai. Along the way she would comment on the dish’s or the landmarks and there back story. Another thing that I will never forget is singing a Chinese New Year song. It was embarrassing at first but now I have something to look back to and go. That was fun, I don’t know why I was so embarrassed. I had so much fun in math and Mandarin class. I hope you give Yinxuan Gu a chance cause she is such a fun teacher both when she’s teaching and when she is outside of class
