- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Melinda tries to work with every family and stay within their financial means. Rates vary based on the species and how far she has to travel. We can accept check, credit card, cash, or paypal. We offer discounts for clients that book more than one training session. We schedule all appointments via our website. Please visit our website and click the,"Book An Appointment Now" button. There is also a "Schedule Now" button.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first visit is the BIG one. We ask that customers clear at least, one hour of their schedule. The first consultation can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours depending on the complexity of the behavior issues. We also prefer for all pet owners to be present and a quiet environment during the first visit. This way Melinda can make your pet(s) feel comfortable around her and get to know them. This allows both Melinda and the pet parents to really focus on the problems at hand.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Melinda left academia in 2017 to focus on animal behavior consulting full-time but is a trained Animal Behavior Scientist that still regularly volunteers for scientific research. She has over 15 years of experience with felines and numerous years of training with other species.
