FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard pricing is about 4% to 5% or about $3.5 to $4 per square feet of new construction / additions / or remodel. We also take into consideration the size of the existing residence or building that needs to be measured for "as built" conditions, such as, a 1500 sq. ft. house versus a 5000 sq. ft. house. But we do provide a greater competitive price deal for our Thumbtack customers granting our last customer with almost a 15% discount after we reviewed the project simplicity. We also outsource all Structural Engineering, Methane Gas, Civil Engineering, Soils Report, Lot Survey, and Title 24 Energy Compliance Reports. Our overflow CAD Services are sourced locally and through our affiliates .
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our normal process is to interview and qualify the customer as they interview and qualify me. At Victoriantek we know your project price range based on your project scope. If your dream or project is under-budgeted we tell you in advance before you even start the design process so that you can readjust your planning. We are not just there for the design process, but for the entire construction process with your permission. We want everything about you and your project to be a success. We have referrals that go back before Thumbtack was founded.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) 1976, School of Architecture & Fine Arts. WE ARE NOT licensed Architects, but we provide Residential Design Services not to exceed two stories or four units. I worked for the City of Los Angeles in primarily in Multi-Family and Single Family Residential, and light commercial. The largest project I have worked on was a 32 Unit Senior Citizen Complex. This experience, plus working with many Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Investors, Developers, and Business people have added much to my educational base over the past 48 years. I have gained a wealth of knowledge in the permitting process as we have a personal hand in walking our clients projects through the City Hall and Agency requirements whereby all that is needed by the customer is to have their contractor, or themselves, take care of the final permit fee and get to work. Our many years of experience in the Design & Construction Industry has equipped us consult with our clients and customers in their initial budgeting of the total project from design, permit costs, and completed construction.
