- How did you get started doing this type of work?
People have asked me why I chose the name, The Kassie Project. It is definitely not because I was wanting to come across arrogant or conceited. In actuality, the name comes from the fact that I have been a "project" for my whole family and friend base for years. It seems until lately I've always been the person who needed support (emotionally, professionally, financially, mentally, scholastically, etc) and could never have made it where I am today without the help, time and effort of those around me. It started when I was younger and although I have two killer parents, it was my mom managing the show for most of my high school career and for the majority of my sister's schooling. If my mom who always worked two to three jobs hadn't had the support of my grandmother, my aunt and uncle and lots of supportive friends then my sister and I would have never been able to participate in many of the activities that helped give us the tools we needed to be successful as adults. We had so many people offer rides to practices, church and events - there is no way my mom could have managed getting us to and fro and still work to pay all the bills. Even as an adult and starting a career in the real world, I needed references, assistance, "a shot" from people in my community and especially from my family. It seems no matter how far ahead I got, I still was 20 steps behind where I needed to be. I have been so blessed to have a network that put my needs at the top of their list, sometimes even ahead of their own. It is so humbling, it is still so appreciated. I realize now more than ever how much I needed all the love, support and constructive criticism, truths, handouts, kick in the butts, and most of all prayers from all of my friends and family and even some strangers who were generous enough to take a chance on me professionally. I want more than anything to serve others and to help those people who might not have the network or resources I had to get through their daily, weekly, monthly needs. If my mom hadn't lived in the same community as her family then it would have been so much harder to ask for help. There are many single parents out there who do not live in a community where they have family or maybe just don't feel comfortable asking for help from friends or family. The Kassie Project is here to help with all those little things and because you are paying for help, there should be no guilt for asking - even if it is just to clean a closet, or to pick up cupcakes for the school party your child never told you about until about ten minutes ago as you are walking into your business meeting... But it isn't just for single parents, it's for the person who is doing everything all at once and has no time to relax. Does this sound familiar....work all week, soccer games twice a week, book report due and the in-laws are coming in for the weekend - how do you fit it all in.... I can come to your house - clean out the guest room, organize the pantry, buy the groceries and have the laundry done for you before you get home to take just a little bit off your plate... This goes for anything involving gift giving, event planning, travel reservations, pet sitting, etc. I can be your personal assistant. My rates start at $25.00 per hour and friends and family get the first hour free. If you refer someone then you get one hour free. I have monthly packages which are perfect for the GUYS. You can pay around $250.00 a month and I can handle anything from all the gifts, cards, laundry, travel reservations, check on the dogs, etc for you. (packages depend on how many hours are needed each month). So, the name isn't meant to be an ode to myself but moreover an ode to those who loved me enough to help me get where I am in life. Most importantly, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I've searched for many things to satisfy me over the years and goodness knows nothing worked but him but he did surround me with lots of angels on this earth to help me down the road and to see the light at the end of the tunnel....and that is my goal - help others in their time of need with the small things, the big things, with any of their projects. Even if that project is just reminding them that each day is a new day and never stop having hope that it will all get better. I hope this gives a better explanation for my labor of love and please keep watching for my official launch. Remember, I can do virtual assistance for anyone coast to coast as well. This isn't just an OKC service. Hugs and thank you for your time.
