FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Why are photography services so freaking expensive?!? Good Question! GREAT Question! Photography may seem like it is easy money, right!? One day of work and bring in the cash hand-over-fist! It is not. An un-highlighted, behind the scenes, yet crucial factor in pricing is the editing of your photos. The utmost of care and creativity goes into each finished image you see, and every image taken is touched by me. I have over $8000.00 worth of equipment to use for your shoot. Be it a 30 minute mini or a 4 hour wedding. Add to this operational costs, driving to locations, continuing education, office expenses, software, computer and other hardware, TAXES, you see where this is going! And yes TAXES, :) SNAPS is a 100% legitimate business and I report all earnings to Uncle Sam. Most photographers work for below minimum wage for the first few years of business. It is wonderful if you can find the person who can shoot a 3 hour session for you and provide you with a 25 image disc/thumb drive for $35, and that works for your budget. I might not be the photographer for your needs. I am serious about quality, serious about understanding your needs, serious about the finished product, I am passionate about providing you with images you will cherish for a lifetime.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to meet ahead of time at a coffee shop and be able to talk about what division is that the client has. I’m also able to do consultations over the phone, however, I think that it is best because photography is so personal to an individual, that hands-on attention is needed. Especially involving wedding events, I like to meet at least two times before the event with the bride and groom to ensure that I have the scope of their vision and that they understand what my role is for them for that day.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do take continuing education classes to stay on top of my profession. I am enrolled on online courses am also involved with many photographers in the area to continue shooting and storyboarding.
