FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Attorneys are required, in order to keep their licenses, to complete fifteen CLE hours annually. Thus, Jackie and I both complete CLE (continuing legal education) courses every year. However, even if it were not required, we would still attend courses. We believe that staying up-to-date increases the effectiveness of our practice so that we can serve our clients better. Furthermore, we both enjoy gaining information relevant to our practice.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up, my family had its fair share of legal issues. My father had a small plumbing company, which brought the typical legal matters that most small business owners experience. Too many times, my parents simply could not afford legal representation, so they went it alone. Seeing them go through this type of stress and difficulty made me realize that I wanted to become an attorney so that people like my parents would have an option to turn to when they needed legal representation.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
General legal practices are fairly rare now. Almost all firms specialize in a specific area of law. However, we do handle a wider variety of matters than most firms. We handle family law, civil litigation, transactional law, and estate planning. For a full list of practice areas, please see our website. We are also happy to talk with you if you are not sure in which area of law your case falls. Our list is rather extensive because we offer representation to individuals and small businesses, and these are the matters that often come up for them. Rather than a specific legal area, we focus on a specific client area. We believe that the focus should be there--on the client. If you have a case that we believe is outside our ability, we can direct you to another professional that can serve you well.
