FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I just have a fee for individual lessons, and discount that rate if it involves a class of multiple students, or if the student pays for multiple months in advance. Not too complicated.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Get to know them. Ask them what they would like to learn. Ask them if there are any particular techniques, styles or songs that they would like to learn. Develop a plan and discuss with the student and proceed from there. I'm also flexible to change.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I haven't had a lot of formal individual training, but I keep a running list of websites (and also make them available to my students) that offer guitar instruction. I also get emails with audio and video links to guitar lessons. Also, I subscribe to a guitar magazine which features regular guitar teaching lessons. I've been to guitar workshops and conferences over the years.
