Introduction
I'm a recent Stanford graduate who is excited to get back in to tutoring after finishing my doctorate. I have eight years of experience in tutoring students from middle to undergraduate in Science and Math. I TA'd extensively at Stanford (PhD Chemistry '15) and UC Berkeley (B.S. Chemistry with honors '09) where I taught lab and discussion sections in general, organic and physical chemistry. I am also currently working as an assistant math teacher at a high school near Burlingame. I have taken classes in the education department at UC Berkeley where I studied the process of learning and engaging students. I also worked for a Kaplan test prep company where I underwent a six week teacher training course focused on test taking strategies. I was an instructor and tutor for Willard Middle Schools Youth Support Program where I taught small classes and tutored struggling students individually. I have been an exhibits facilitator at The Tech Museum in San Jose and the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley where I got to teach science to visitors of all ages. My approach is to teach students how to break down and solve problems to become successful on their own rather than just give them the answers.

Dan assisted me in preparing for an organic chemistry midterm at Stanford and really helped me a lot. Rather than giving me answers right away he asked a series of a few questions in response to my questions and kept them as vague at first to teach my how to lead myself to the answer. He made me feel smarter for figuring out an answer and really understanding it rather than me feeling like i needed help and gaining less understanding. When i was clueless though he was ready for that too and was incredibly helpful in dropping the questioning and giving me a quick and effective lesson in whatever I was struggling with. would wholeheartedly recommend him. he knows his stuff is patient and kind.

Dan is a great math tutor. He is patient and knowledgeable. He leads you to the solution but does not tell you the solution. He makes you figure it out by encouraging your own abilities to problem solve. I received tutoring for the CSET Math test and I was very impressed with Dan.
