Introduction
I pride myself on doing something different than other photographers. After looking over other photographers' work, I am always drawn to the ones that are doing something different and innovative, rather than the photographers that are great at replicating what everyone else is doing. Unless you have a specific request, I try to avoid shooting at locations that I've already shot at. I want to make sure you get something that is unique to you, instead of taking everyone to the same location just because it's easier. I also don't like to pose my clients--ESPECIALLY toddlers and children! There's nothing worse than a forced pose with phony smiles. Instead, I encourage my clients to run around and have fun. The shots are genuine and I usually end up getting a pretty good workout from it!! :) I love getting to know my clients and having fun with them while I get to do what I love. The other thing I love is getting a shot that knocks my socks off, and knowing that they'll love it to! I want to produce images that will keep my clients coming back for more shoots as they grow!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I've always been a camera hog. Growing up, I would take my family's 35mm point-and-shoot and go through rolls and rolls of film! I got my first DSLR when I was in high school, and I shot my first senior portraits when I was only fifteen years old! I also took my own senior portraits with the help of a tripod and my little brother (my hired shutter-release kid). My passion really took hold of me while spending the summer in Australia. The entire country and population are beautiful, so I found it hard to take a bad shot. It was in Australia that I built my first website and my facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/carlymoonimages). I've been growing and developing myself ever since!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

My favorite, favorite, favorite types of shoots to do are newborn, high school seniors, and engagements!!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for outstanding customer service and someone that you feel comfortable with. If you're not comfortable with your photographer, it'll show in your photos. Find someone that encourages fun and will go out of their way to make sure you have an experience to remember! Photos are always better when you have a story or experience to tell about them. Also, look for someone that loves their job and is constantly growing. Just because you find a photographer that has twenty years of experience, doesn't mean that you're getting the best photos available. Most likely, you'll end up with photos that resemble those from their best era. Don't settle for their settling!
