Introduction
I make seemingly, difficult things easy. I am committed to my students and am able to make more progress with them in less time. Individual progress depends on the commitment level of the student.

I studied with David at Berklee College of Music: first as a high school student while attending a summer program, and then as an undergraduate while completing my Bachelors degree. I highly recommend David. He is a great mentor. Wanna’ learn the basics? David will make sure that you develop a solid foundation. Wanna’ rock? David’s got you covered. Curious about jazz? David can show you the way. Wanna’ play some tricky Latin groove that sounds impossible and melts your brain when you first hear it? David will patiently break everything down and you’ll be groovin’ in no time! He helped me with all those things… (and more!) I am confident that David can help you too!

I was lucky to have prof. Cowan in my Berklee College of Music days! A gifted performer and educator who has a patient and fun style for youth and adults alike! I wholeheartedly recommend him to you and your family, you won't regret it!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes! I continue to study and practice for personal and professional development. I believe that the best teachers are also good students. We also continue studying and learning new teaching methods in order to best serve each individual student.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I teach singers and drummers how to be more rounded musicians I teach people how to play many different styles of drumming I teach singers how to be more self-sufficient I teach students how to recognize chords and learn their favorite songs I teach all my students how to read music and develop their ears I help bands with rehearsal techniques and teach them how to be efficient in their work.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Don't always look for the most popular teacher. And, don't judge a teacher by what bands or artists they play with. Those things are good indicators that the person is a good player. But, it's important that they be able to communicate concepts clearly and that they actually give you the tools that will help you to play well no matter what style of music you play.
