I am not a repeat offender! I like to offer fresh solutions to homeowner problems. I love to incorporate different types of products to achieve an exciting take on a classic look. I deliver a design perspective that's anything but boring, anything but beige... (unless you happen to like beige.?!) I love the creative aspect of what I do. I love finding a new angle to deliver the same room or a unique way to showcase a piece of furniture. I also love getting to know my clients in a way that helps me to bring out the them they never knew existed. I take pleasure in the WOW factor.

Michelle has been my designer for three homes now. Obviously, I am extremely happy with her work. She is an attentive person, ensuring all details are handled well. Her color selection is always on point. Even when I wonder about a color, once it's up on the wall I'm in love. Not only that, but she always takes lots of time to explain to me why she has chosen something or the make up of something within her design. Her eye is fantastic. One thing that I truly appreciate is her sense of scale. She has beaten it into me how important it is. I had worked with another designer before I hired her and she was little more than a decorator. THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE! Her husband is just as amazing, creating beauty out of wood and making my home special. I highly recommend Michelle and Fashion House Interiors for any project, small to large. She's a joy to work with and I tell everyone I know.

I consulted Fashion House Interior Design to help redesign my kitchen and living room, which needed a serious update. Michelle Ortiz was an immense help with the complete makeover. I was especially grateful for the detail and care that she put in to making sure everything fit perfectly. The warm gray-beige that she suggested for the living room wall were perfect giving an inviting and homey feeling, which is absolutely gorgeous compared to the plain white walls that were previously there. The furniture picked out also complimented well with the color and was also modern and inviting. I especially enjoyed the new look my kitchen was given. Having a relatively small kitchen made it difficult to store all the utensils and cookware, but her custom cabinet designs allowed everything to fit and actually create more open space for us to use. I would highly recommend Michelle and her associates at Fashion House Interior Design as they take your every input into considerations. Ultimately I felt that they made sure I got exactly what I wanted and gave perfect suggestions that matched my expectations.

Michelle's a God-send! I'm a first-time home owner, and was in over my head trying to decorate on my own. Michelle listened to all of my ideas and really pinpointed my personality and style. My bedroom transformed from a shrine of Marilyn Monroe into a master suite fit for the starlet herself. It's beautiful and classy and totally ME. I can't wait to see what she comes up with for my kitchen :-)

Michelle was absolutely amazing to work with. She worked miracles in our home and made it a chic, glamorous, classy, comfortable sanctuary. I cried when I saw the finished design. She was always available to talk and walk us through everything and make us feel completely as ease with the whole process. Her vision and constant communication was excellent and we wouldn't change a single thing about our experience. We can't wait to work with her again and have her work her magic in our other rooms. I highly recommend her to anyone considering her expertise. She will not disappoint!

After interviewing 5 designers, my husband and I chose Michelle. I cannot imagine that any of the others could have captured our thoughts and put them into our home as beautifully as she did. The COLORS are so amazing. I enjoy looking at each and every accent in my den. The smallest details weren't skipped and I loved coming home each and every day to see the changes. We are now working with her on a third room in the house, to see where her mind will go. Thank you for making what seemed to be a hectic remodel into such a pleasant experience!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Continuing education is a must for any GOOD designer. We get trend reports, seminars on new technologies, fabrics, furnishings, styles, codes and all things related to our field and better providing for our clients. I attend over 100 hours of combined trade and education per year to provide my clients with the most updated product knowledge I can.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hiring a professional, even if just for advice ( a consult) on your do-it-yourself project is like the old adage "measure twice, cut once". Many projects that may seem easy, are far more involved that you thought and the skill that I provide will help prevent costly mistakes down the road.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customer understood just how difficult what we do it. I'm not a decorator. I don't just make things pretty, I make rooms function properly with a beautiful aesthetic. It's not as easy as HGTV makes it look!
