- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a range in hourly rate from $35 - 55 per hour for tutoring. I will also often take on an interesting writing project or will work on a resume for a flat fee which can vary from $150 - 500 or more, depending upon how much collaboration there is and how much time is needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We need to spend time at first talking about needs, expectations, goals, and outcomes. I want to get into the details --- what the student's books look like, where the student is most comfortable studying, and what kind of tools they use, such as pencils or ink, lined or unlined paper, and so on. I like to know what other kinds of activity a student enjoys. All these details create a picture for me to begin to build a strategy for moving the student forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am very well-educated, having attended the best of both public and private schools. I have trained in college classrooms, as well as kindergartens and adult-learning environments. From this, I have developed a keen sense of how people learn and what helps that process.
